The printer is both dot matrix and has moveable print heads, and at least 2 additional adjustment points.

The tags would feed through and snag or something so the text would crawl and shift out of the preprinted boxes.

My friend made a triple chocolate gingerbread cake, and I was in my normal dessert mode:

Vegan pumpkin mousse, apple cider caramels, vegan orange gingerbread cake, gingerbread trifle with tangerine caramel sauce, and eggnog pie.

You may be able to make a quick caramel sauce that will give a similar effect.

Sadly I didn't have enough molasses for even the one gingerbread themed dessert, so my spouse has gone out for 6•10^23 molasses.

Eggnog pie is in the fridge. Cinnamon roll dough is rising.
