Def some of the most useful things I have taught my dogs were how get themselves untangled from a leash, and from whatever post/sapling/etc the line got wrapped around

Exactly, because shoulder-top use required batteries which were expensive, and as someone else said I was a home-nerd not wanting to bother others!

Please talk to folks in MH&A care world before dismissing it. Prazosin is v helpful for debilitating PTSD nightmares in many pts.

Weird, my dog has all the relevant vaccines, and yet still has excellent verbal skills (husky! I should note she has manners and reserves speaking for requests for door-opening, and greeting Friends)

Exactly-- if these tests are hard for you, they're even harder for those who haven't had those opportunities. Like, if raised in Candian Arctic and didn't attend a school that had picturbooks of camels you're sunk (but also, that's why cutoff for diagnosis usually gives a few points leeway)

Yeah, several of these tests are really skewed towards well educated English speakers (eg repeat " no ifs, ands, or buts" exactly correctly). There are far better versions that have more cross-cultural applicability (and try and test ability, not education)
