I am not sure about that. The Nutrition Labeling and Education Act H.R.3562 was passed in 1990. That codified that all food ingredients must be labeled. It modified a previous act but I have to look up what the previous act said, apparently it was not comprehensive enough, hence this law.

That is true. However what the Ecuadoreans have done is follow the example of Finland who developed this method of food labeling in the 1970s. I don’t know when our labeling system started but I think it was after that. So we had a good example to follow.

I heard it too on WQXR and totally agree. I was at their concert the night before and thought they sounded much better in the Mahler than in their Ma Vlast. More transparent and much better balance. But YoYo Ma was terrific in the Dvorak Cello concerto.
