Ace Combats history lessons in school would go hard as hell. I suppose most of its top secret though, like they'd ever admit to wrongfully arresting a guy, only to end up needing him, so I bet they swept it under the rug: Spare 15 was shot down, Trigger was always the hero, etc

It and their earlier game, Severed Steel are my favorite games this year. Both of them let you launch into the year, score a dozen headshots while doing a backfip upside down. One makes it easy, the other makes it hard, but satisfying.

In Fate Grand Order, the servants and mages are all supernatural. The beasts and Types are all eldritch. The player, spamming Apples and cash until a boss is dead, is cosmic horror.

Maybe the twist would be the kid's brother wasn't actually eaten by a shark, but by a more human predator, and the coverup mixed with the sensational story of a shark lead to repressed memories- and as the truth is revealed, the shark takes a more horrifically human shape.

Kid's put into a sleep pod in an isolated room, but then there's a power outage. The aging security system fails and hardlocks the doors- and something starts taking out the staff one by one. The only solution is to wake the kid up...but he's on the top floor, while the survivors are on the first.

That's not a bad idea. Like maybe a kid's brother got eaten by a shark, and he has repeat nightmares that its out to get him. His parents take him to a sleep therapist, who is secretly has a manor that makes dreams real. Nobody has enough consecutive recurring dreams to prove it works, until...

I distinctly recall being bored during the visits to the three city states, only to see her for the first time and go "oh lawd" and every scene she's been in has been amazing

The main purpose IMO is so that Musk, who used Tesla stock (which is cratering) to buy Twitter, isn't on the hook to Tesla/X investors for the loss of money, X the company is, and thus it can go into bankruptcy or claim the sheer value gained by the merger is worth more than the loss. A big cheat.

You can kinda see the inset bias of most image generators, where you put in something default, or neutral, and it fills the gaps with the common denominator of the training data- skin tone, body shape. Often IMG2IMG like this usually gives them a large cup size due to training on Insta models.

So it's not that I somehow manifested my mastery of a #2 pencil to stop the bad dream, or that the pencil became my dream totem, but rather that I found something I understood, felt confident about, and had positive feelings for. I'm uncertain about a lot of my abilities, but not if I have a pencil.

So cue the recurring dream- my hands do nothing, my lasers do nothing, I can't run because my legs don't know how to leg- but then I reach into my pocket, grab this thing that at this point, I "always" have, and showed my dream antagonist the point of it. Repeatedly.

School was hard, I always forgot things, and got punished for forgetting- so I always kept a #2 pencil in my pocket, or four, no matter what because I would need it.- it at least fixed that part of the turd sandwich that was school.

I had a dream of being attacked alot, and like, one part of nightmares and dreamscapes is that if you think you're gonna fail, you fail- you shoot lasers from your hand and they just ignore it, your arms and legs feel like pool noodles.
