And given almost everyone carries a smartphone everywhere they go, and almost everyone has at least a provisional driving license, this will presumably be the end of needing to take your passport with you to get into a London nightclub.

This is basically a replacement for Twitter, not FB. Though FB for personal and here for public might well work.
