A comparable trip from Manchester to Inverness is 7hrs. And I very much miss the 5 hr London to Edinburgh. That's a lovely journey for a long weekend. Don't get me started on the Eurostar *sigh

Yes. A friend holidaying here recently took the Auckland to Welly train. I had no idea it took 12 hours.
