I to see Sir W. Pen, who is fallen sick again. I staid a while talking with him, and so to my office, practising some arithmetique, and so home to supper and bed, having sat up late talking to my poor wife with great content.

My brother told me some hopes he had of bringing his business to pass still of his mistress, but I do find they do stand upon terms that will not be either fit or in his power to grant, and therefore I did dislike his talk and advised him to give it quite over.

If you wonder why I tend to quote the Pepys account rather than replying it's because I get anxious about being replied to by people even if they agree with me on everything 😭 it's dumb but that's just how my brain works
