One more note to add: the actors did good and there were only a few minor script changes I didn’t like. Not a bad film, just a disappointing one. Another remake in a long list of remakes that serve no purpose. Could never reccomend over the original. Watch the original. 👍

Eggersisms and nothing new. It feels like the brought Eggers on to do a remake and they wanted him to do his Eggers things and nothing more, no new wackiness to add to his catalogue. And I can only assume it’s cuz it’s not his story. Incredibly disappointing movie for me. I hate remake culture. 4/4

Catches me by surprise. From the wind up music box intro to the cheesy jump-scares, I can’t even blame audiences for laughing along at some portions like online discourse has suggested they have. Again, I like Eggers as a director, this just did not feel like his best work, all the classic 3/?

The original Nosferatu is filled to the brim with the experimentation of the director and groundbreaking new techniques and tropes in the horror genre. Eggers Nosferatu is a modern version of the film, filled with modern cliches and all the modern horror tropes and techniques and nothing that 2/?

Nosferatu (2024) verdict: 4/10
Wow, after hearing so many good things I was shocked at how much this film disappointed me. I like Nosferatu, I like Eggers as a director. Yet here we are again met with a prime example of my issue with all remakes: they exist solely to diminish the original art. 1/?
