I have no idea, I make hundreds of side projects every year, but I only finish like 1 on of them. For me it's more like having something to tinker with, I am in a jam right now and a dialog system I made not too long ago became useful, so I don't think I really wasted my time with it either.

I usually just go with whats functional and most non-intrusive. Though I have thought about starting to get more visual and "stylish" with the UI but I still need a lot of improving with that aspect.

I respect this view. It really does speed up development and might also breed more creative ideas. (I do it out of laziness)
