How many American cars and SUVs do we see in Canadian parking lots? My guess is that here in Toronto it's maybe 10%. Subarus, Hondas, Toyotas, Mazdas, Hyundais, Kias, Mitsubishis outnumber American vehicles by a wide margin.

I hope this excellent speech is a precursor to the PM taking his own advice more consistently. So far, there has been a lot pussyfooting around Trump, if not outright appeasement, and it has gained us nothing. You can't bargain with a bad-faith actor.

When will American citizens be required to carry "papers, please" on their way to the grocery store? Oh, wait . . .
January 16, 2026 at 4:37 PM
Good to see some pushback against Trump. There has been too much pussy-footing around the orange felon already. Now ban X, or at least remove all government accounts.

And the chubby guy to Trumps right is sweating like a pig.

Raging malignant narcissists' brains have a black hole where the ability to identify hypocrisy resides in most of us.

But citizens should put up with being executed for being in their cars.

Canada will be at war, one way or another, within months unless Trump is stopped, one way or another.

The answer to every bad crisis or good occurrence is always more pipelines.

Not so sure about all of our leaders, though.

Up until this week, I was OK with Carney's performance on foreign affairs, if less so on domestic matters. Now I'm wondering how long until we will become Vichy Canada? Say what you want about JT, he would not have given such a tepid response about Trump's annexation of Venezuela.

More accurately Profitierenraum.

Treacherous means dangerously unreliable, implying betrayal of trust (like a slippery path or person), while subversive means actively undermining a system, like government or beliefs, often secretly.
Most Canadians are happy to undermine the Trump regime, which fits the definition of treacherous.

Canadians capturing it and disseminating it all over the internet is the kind of guerrilla action we can do well. Global just didn’t know in time.

Who go a bum rap. It irks me that people say his values were performative — from what I've heard, he genuinely believed in helping Indigenous people, environmentalism and progressive social programs.

Also, why would a guy whose father was a black man from Kenya raised by a Muslim Indian family, want to appear to be a white Christian nationalist?

It's the smirk on Leavitt's face that is the most offensive. The rest just look miserable or angry, but she looks like she's gloating.

What a ghoul.

If our ambassador spoke to Americans the way Hoekstra speaks to and about us, Trump would send the person packing immediately, and not necessarily back to Canada.
December 10, 2025 at 12:21 PM
Canada shares a border with Denmark on Hans Island (like France and Holland on St. Martin), so Canada should apply for EU membership as well. If nothing else, it would pi$$ off Trump and that boor Hoekstra something fierce.

The only entrance is through the garage?

And the obnoxious ambassador to Canada, Hoekstra, makes Canadians more furious every time he opens his big mouth. He and his boss repeatedly threaten our sovereignty, then he says we're to blame for the bad relationship—all because a province ran an ad highlighting Reagan's opinion on tariffs.
November 30, 2025 at 6:56 PM
And we already have a port farther south, with a pipeline going to it that could be expanded. This new pipeline idea is just a sop to one province that does nothing but complain.
November 30, 2025 at 6:50 PM
It's not being "planned." It's being discussed, but it won't happen. The ocean area where the port would be is one of the most treacherous in the world, so no insurers will touch it. The coastal Indigenous people own the land area and want nothing to do with a port, and they must be consulted.
