Yup. I think most of us are way beyond the limit. I try to tune it all out sometimes by watching the Reykjavik live webcam and wish I were there. I can't imagine what the rest of the world thinks of the US. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tRT...

Music really does trigger memories, good and bad. When I finally got to see Paul McCartney in person after 40 years, I was on top of the world. The actual Paul, from the Beatles, right there in front of me. Anyway, found this on Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyzY...

Yup. Makes me and everyone I know sick. The homeless will have more company and the hungry will have less food. etc. etc. And healthcare, geez. And RFKjr, dumb as a rock. I'm following Ed Yong's advice. Birding. Watching the the juvenile sparrows playing in the sky, helps for a while.

Sounds like an interesting book. I think farting around is in our nature. From what I've read about hunter-gatherers, they "worked" for a few hours, then farted around the rest of the time. 50k yrs later, Ads dominate us. Same brain though.

Ah, the guy with the big mouth who has done absolutely NOTHING for the American people during his stay in Congress. We pay his salary and get NOTHING from him. Maybe he should be required to have a side job harvesting on farms.

I don't think we know how much of Russia's bomber fleet has been destroyed. The Russians won't disclose it, nor will the US with all its spy capabilities or the Ukrainians. There's photos of 5 bombers destroyed. Bombers have long been the weakest nuke delivery system.

Just read the article. Very upsetting to see US science going down the drain after growing up during the space age. And all the science missions you mention, cost less than cup of coffee per year. At least, my name gets to go interstellar on New Horizons, for pennies.

Don't know if this will affect next week's graduation. It will be a shame if the foreign students and their families can't attend. Many families are here in the Boston area already.

Since I'm on MIT's Astronomy department mailing list, I get invited to their weekly department lectures. My mind is blown every week. The JWST data, as you probably know, is opening up new questions on the early universe, which is contained in this image, like the "little red dots," (LRD's).

Agree. And as I watch from my window, the pigeons and sparrow pairs chasing each other, building nests, and avoiding the local Red Tailed hawk, maybe we're all just here to reproduce on this rotating sphere, hurling through the void.
