I still have another one, so it might be next.

Have a great weekend!

The Pacific Ale is one of my favourites. Think of it like a Stone & Wood but with a bit more body. It’s still got a tropical finish that’s refreshing on a hot day. I also like that it's not as smashable as a hazy.

This one comes from Bass Point Brewing. It’s a local brewery that’s still relatively new on the scene. I first tried their brews at a Food and Wine Festival, and have followed them ever since.

How does 8-4 choose projects to work on?
December 18, 2025 at 8:49 AM
It might sound like a repetitive chore, but it keeps challenging me every time I return to it. I’m looking for new ways to make the content more engaging and refreshing to read. The project also forces me not to repeat myself.

That’s what I’m working on today. What are you doing today?

When we began, we had to make significant changes to the layout and content to improve search engine rankings. One page wasn’t even listed in the results. Today, it’s number one.

Around mid afternoon, a pretty decent first draft is ready. I’ll let it ferment overnight, punch it up here and there, and then send it off for submission.

I finish the day with some video editing work, just to mix it up.

Time to jump in.

Thanks for the reaction stream. It was a great event and so good seeing Ben again.

Wish me luck. Cheers.

So maybe this triple IPA from Range Brewing is a good idea to cap off the week. This beer doesn’t taste like a 10% beer. I’m getting flavours of grapes, peaches and rockmelons. It’s very easy to drink, especially now the sun is coming back out and the temperature is starting to rise.

Lastly, I lined up an article with a videogame website. I’ll be doing an interview with a developer about an upcoming indie game. I’m looking forward to the chat, learning more about the title and writing about videogames again.

I finished a bunch of page updates for another client and will start a new project with them next week.

I finished a couple of wedding video projects, and I’ve started prepping the next one.

This was hilarious. I'm hoping for more Pope Leo next year.

Don’t forget, that green banner around my profile photo is not a holly wreath. I’m available for new projects and part-time work from February. If you want to lock down a content writer, content editor, or video editor before your first free drink at the work Christmas party, get in touch.

I’ve also been in discussion with a video game website about writing some features. I’ll send some pitches through today.

I’ll start putting together the next article for my new client. I got word that the agency’s client is very happy with the work so far. Fingers crossed this leads to more work.

I’m working on another wedding video project. I’ve got a couple more lined up after I finish this one.

I'm even learning how they capture the footage from the games, which requires its own set of tools. The whole process is fascinating. I’m enjoying trying it out for myself with a few of my favourite games.

Lots to do. Let’s get into it.

Right now, I’m specialising in wedding videos, podcast clips, and corporate content. I’m also messing around with some video game trailers, which is an entirely new skill set. It’s not just about getting the files and putting something cool together.

I’m also doing a bit of upskilling in between it all. One of the things I love about video editing is that there are new styles to play around with, updated tools to try out, and different ways to approach a project.
