Sure – Ishiguro, Pinter, etc. worked for film. But there’s a difference between writing a screenplay & reshaping the grammar of cinema. Krasznahorkai’s work with Tarr didn’t just adapt his prose – it transformed it into a unique cinematic form. That’s a different order of magnitude.
