Yes, Covid is/was dangerous. But it wouldn't kill you where you were standing in 5 seconds.

You have a point. I think the reason why people weren't reacting to Covid the way they should have been is that they thought it should look like what happened in the movies. One minute someone's in a grocery store shopping, and the next they're lying dead in the check out aisle. Theatrics.

People who are poor have always had to deal with moving goalposts. If they didn't do their hair or have nice nails, they would be told that's why they can't get better jobs. The rich people looking down them will always find a way to say "it's poor people's fault." **Sigh**

So, I'm fine if senate dems shut it down. For all intents and purposes, the impact for vulnerable populations will be the same if the government is shut down or not. They've been abandoned either way. (3/3)

The White House has shown that it will unilaterally decide where money is spent and why. Essentially, the budget setting capabilities of the House of Representatives and the Senators have been nullified if someone can just sign an executive order that ceases funding. (2/3)

Maybe at ten am there can be a massive donation effort for Representative Green. Everyone can go to act his ActBlue and donate.
