Pittsburgh Women for Democracy is a coalition of engaged citizens working to foster an inclusive, informed, and active community—one that advances democracy, equity, and justice.
Aftyn Behn ran one of the most inspiring campaigns of this cycle.

It’s easy to be inspired by a candidate who’s expected to win; it’s another thing entirely to watch someone fight for a community even when the odds are long.

Thank you for all that you sparked with your campaign!

We stand with @deluzio.house.gov and @houlahan.house.gov and the other members of congress who made a video encouraging our active duty military, and intelligence community members to refuse to follow any illegal orders. Spreading that message is not sedition, it’s patriotism in action.

Did you know PA is home to the largest ICE detention center in the Northeast?

The Moshannon Valley Processing Center is run by a private prison company and detains people, often convicted of no crime, in inhumane conditions.

!! CALL TO ACTION !! #Booksky

please join me in the fight to save our libraries.

EveryLibrary is working hard to save the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), which is the federal agency charged with distributing Congressionally approved funds to state libraries and grant recipients.
April 9, 2025 at 12:53 AM
A March 14 Executive Order dismantles IMLS, the only federal agency funding libraries. The order halts future funding and mandates the agencies cut services and staff to the legal minimum.

If you don't have a library card, now would be a good time to get one!

On March 14th, Trump signed an Executive Order that dismantles and functionally eliminates the IMLS, the only federal agency that funds library services.

Let us introduce you to our most famous library: The Library of Congress. Did you know that it adds some 10,000 items to its collections daily?
