Torontonian here and definitely use the term (or PNW) to include BC. Relatively common usage in Ontario... though I've noticed that the people who use it the most are folks from BC/AB/SK/MB who live here.

As a daily user of this section of bike lane- the large yellow bin filled with concrete (which I assumed is to ensure cars don't hit the barrier?) is usually pushed halfway into the bike lane making it difficult/impossible to enter the lane on a bike. I sometimes just go into traffic to avoid it.

High Park should be Toronto's Central Park/Stanley Park.... surrounded with high density buildings so that more people can enjoy the space. Highrises can be encouraged where they won't shadow too much (i.e. the north and east sides of the park) and midrises elsewhere.

I think their argument is that all green spaces, including their backyards, provide "environmental services" and are therefore better for the environment than a sixplex that may have less green space. Apparently they have never been in the typical Toronto backyard that is 75% paved patio.

Toronto had a massive failure of leadership starting around 1980. No vision except “lower my taxes”. Amalgamation was fuel to the fire. We’ve hopefully started to turn it around.

the best grandmas go on excursions with their grandkids and/or make them delicious things to eat. i feel bad for their grandkids if this is how they spend their time. probably no fun.

As an American immigrant to Canada: There are many superficial similarities with the US, but the values and institutions of Canada are very different and probably more in line with the UK (minus the excessive classism)
