For me it's about themes, emotions and, increasingly, a sort of meta lens i.e. appreciating a film for the craft itself. This can sometimes clash with others who care more about what is literally happening

Maybe we're using different definitions, I just often find that general audiences care more about plot than I do, about it making immediate logical sense and being satisfying. this ties into entertainment tbf

Yah that's where I'm at. I do feel guilty sometimes too tho, when I fail to relate to ppl who r struggling

My irreverent sense of humor and socialist beliefs don't go against this - if anything, they're empowered by my status, as I don't have any real immediate problems in my life and can focus on curating my personality and philosophy
