So here’s a little story 🎨💛

As most of you know, I’ve always been a big fan of Data 🤖✨ (Star Trek).
I started drawing portraits when I was about 12 years old — around 1997 🧒✏️
But it wasn’t until 2011 that I finally found the courage to draw Data. 🧵

Finally finished portrait #30 in my Book of Faces! ✍️📖 This time, I added Pauley Perrette as Abby from NCIS—because honestly, she had to be in there. 🖤🔬 Abby is smart, quirky, unapologetically herself, and a brilliant scientist in a field often dominated by men. 👩‍🔬✨

What started as a gouache experiment 🎨 (that went totally sideways) somehow found its way back—thanks to a little persistence ✨ and a lot of color!

Here’s Data 🤖 again—our favorite colorless android—now boldly lit in purple, starlight ⭐, and neon eyes.

Had a blast makerfairegent today! Just my trusty @efteling sketchbook and two multicolor ballpoints from @hema.be ✏️ Finally completed this accidental lookalike trio: Brent Spiner and James Spader were drawn last year, and today I added Michael Shanks 🎨

I try to make a habit of sketching for at least 10 minutes a day—if I have more time, I work on something bigger. In these quick sessions, I focus on capturing the essence of what I see…
So here you go: some quick freehand Brent Spiner/Data sketches 😂

"I am happy to see Spot… yet I am crying. Perhaps the chip is malfunctioning."
"I think it’s working perfectly."
— Data & Deanna, Generations
I hope I captured that emotion in his face: the confusion, the tenderness, the spark of something deeply human.

Two years of practice really do make a difference! I revisited a portrait I originally made in 2023 of Brent Spiner as Data (yes, again 😄) to see how far I’ve come. Swipe to see the evolution: Black pencils (2025) - Ecoline markers (2023) - graphite version (2023) – where it all started.

Help, my desk got invaded by these tiny critters! 🐾👀 (Chuzzles?) Any ideas on what the plan is with these tiny creatures? 🤔 Are they up to something mischievous 😈 or just looking for a new home? 🏡 Let me know your theories!

Finished another digital portrait! 🎨 Brent Spiner as Data in Star Trek: TNG (S07E17) Masks. Used a screenshot as reference, featuring the haunting moment:

🗣️ 'Does it hurt?'
🤖 'Yes'

Just a wild thought: A young Brent Spiner would have made a perfect Loki, don’t you think? 😏✨ And Tom Hiddleston as Data? 🤖🤭

Had a few minutes to sketch this out after looking for some references. Not sure if I’ll take this idea further, but it was fun to explore! 🎨 What do you think?

But amidst the chaos, I finally found the time to finish a new portrait in my Book of Faces: the amazing Tine Embrechts (F(l)amme Fatale — and so much more!). She’s portrait number 29 in my little book.

Now the big question… who should be number 30? 🎨 Drop your suggestions below! 💛

✨ WIP Wednesday! ✨ Voor mijn Vlaamse/Nederlandse volgers: hier is een kijkje achter de schermen bij mijn nieuwste portret van Tine Embrechts! 🎨
Wat denken jullie tot nu toe? Laat gerust een reactie achter! 💛

Two portraits, one collage — both created using the same reference of Brent Spiner as Data. ✍️ Each side tells its own story. One is who he is, the other who he wants to be. Which side draws your eye the most? Let me know! 💛🖤

WIP Wednesday! 🚀🎨 Finished another portrait for my watercolor painting of the TNG cast—this time, Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden). Used colored pencils to refine the details and bring her to life. 🖌️💙 Only one portrait left... well, almost. Worf still needs some serious work! 🫣

**"Couldn't resist the urge to take out my colored pencils and tweak the previous portrait a bit. ✏️💛 I'm pretty happy with how it turned out in the end!

What do you think—did the colored pencils improve the design, or did it make it worse? 🤔✨ Let me know! 👇

In the category: I have no idea what I'm doing, it's just practice. Haven't created anything in over a week because life has been lifing. 🫠🎨 Here's Data (Brent Spiner) in mixed media—just letting the creativity flow! Should I leave it like this or try to improve it?

🖤💛

**#ThrowbackThursday** to 2023, when I experimented with a unique artistic approach—dividing a single portrait into four sections and filling each with a different medium.

Here’s my take on **Brent Spiner as Data**, brought to life with graphite pencils, watercolors, markers, and pastels.

Some of my early and not-so-early Data fan art!

Brent Spiner as Data (Star Trek: TNG) has always been one of my comfort characters, so I often use him to experiment with different techniques. I've worked with graphite pencils, colored pencils, markers, watercolors, and digital drawing

What better way to celebrate someone's birthday than with a new portrait drawing?

Happy B-Day, Brent Spiner! You’ll always be the best 'Data' 😉.

Drawn with graphite pencils (Staedtler) – a great addition to my Book of Faces! 🎨✨

Made some small progress on a project I started in 2024: a watercolor painting of the crew from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Last weekend, I added details to Captain Picard's portrait. That’s 5 down, 2 more to go! Follow me to see the end result (hopefully later this year!) 🚀🎨

✨ Finished this portrait of Eva Green as Miss Peregrine! 🖤 This was my first time using black graphite pencils (Staedtler), and I loved exploring all the details. 🎨

I want to draw more women—especially those who’ve made a meaningful impact on our world. 🌍💪 Who do you think I should draw next?

Sharing my art journey, one portrait at a time. 🎨 Layer by layer, she’s coming to life – my latest project is Eva Green as Miss Peregrine. 🖌️ This is part of my ambition to honor women (real or fictional) who’ve made a meaningful impact on our world. 🌟

Who should I draw next? Let me know!

🎥 Reel: One Day or Day One?

This reel features one of my favorite portraits from 2024 (James McAvoy as Professor X) versus my very first portrait from 1998 (Brian Littrell, aka B-Rok, from the Backstreet Boys).
