Maria Sibylla Merian was a botanical artist who self-financed a voyage to S. America for 3 years (1699-1701) with her daughter. Her illustrations produced the volume, Metamorphosis insectorum Surinamensium, a major contribution to the history of natural science.

Oooo, and I already had the movie on my radar! Will nerd out too. Loved Bright Star, and had to visit the Keats-Shelley House. Quite surreal to also be able to see the room where he died.
