he's asleep so I'll post an update. he's going to get in contact with an immigration lawyer and he has a place to go. the big question marks right now are how much trouble he's in (are the police after him? will he be given time to gather his things?) and how he's going to bring Easel, his cockatiel

So I went in, eager to get the stress of staying in the country off my shoulders, only to be told that not only was I, without my knowledge, in the country illegally, but also working illegally.
I was told that I needed to leave. Now. So now I'm packing while I wait for a lawyer to get back to me.

apparently his residency expired almost a year ago and he had NO IDEA. he has to leave as soon as possible and he'll probably have to pay a huge fine for staying too long. all of this on top of credit card debt and having to figure out how to bring a bird with him internationally... please help
