He threw his hands over his head, wincing, when a shadow fell over him from above. Glancing up from the corner of his eye, there was a raven that seemed to have come out of nowhere. He shot down from the sky, caught himself before he hit the ground, twisted around mid-air, and, wings spread widely, landed gently on his feet. "Looks like we got some visitor." The bird had caught Shadowheart's attention. She and D'ylân, with Scratch on their heels, came closer to inspect the curious animal. "I suppose," Lae'zel hissed, "There's yet another ridiculous custom of your people that forbids turning prey into a meal if it's brazen enough." She had ignored everyone until the bird's arrival. Hand still around the hilt of her sword, she joined the circle. "Brazen, and close to a druid grove, from where we've been expecting a message for days," D'ylân explained politely. Astarion smirked. Even that oversized bag of bad jokes and quips rather didn't mess with the gith warrior. "You speak sense." Satisfied with the answer, Lae'zel's pose relaxed, but she still didn't put away her blade. Seemingly enjoying the attention his arrival stirred, the raven stretched his wings and preened the long feathers with his strong beak, looking his best and yet unbothered. Intelligent black eyes watched the group that gathered around him, as if searching for one specific face that he wished to talk to. Anyone else wouldn't get a sound out of him.

D'ylân takes care of himself in the morning if he can catch a private moment. It's a nice way to relax and lowers the risk of unplanned outlines (being well-endowed and liking tight pants comes with downsides). If he's horny, he takes his time if possible.

D'ylân's been on the receiving end of Durge snapping twice before the official bloodlust reveal.
1. when they ran into each other for the first time and Durge's instincts told him "THREAT! KILL!"

2. Durge crushed D'ylân's hand when he tried to stop Durge from crushing Astarion's windpipe.
Gale and Dylan stand in front of their respective love interests, arguing. Astarion is kneeling behind Dylan, looking in pain and terrified. Durge is behind Gale, turned away from the scene, and holds his head and stares at his hand.

Reasons:

- He's a Volo fan
- Scratch wanted to tag along and play, and D'ylân couldn't say no
- Mol's cool.

And maybe Durge will think twice in the future before making him the substitute leader while he sneaks away with Gale.
Dylan grins with his hands on his hips. Behind him, Volo does Volo things, Scratch is a happy best boy, and Mol, hands on hips, chest out, is ready to throw hands. Durge points at Dylan, looking not very amused. Astarion, who wasn't invited to this conversation, offers his valuable input anyway and stands next to Durge to give moral support by looking smug.

The Summary: He didn't own anything but the clothes on his body. He'd have to sleep in the open hadn't he been quick to pretend to have strained a joint in his hand, so Gale would help him put together a tent. He was surprised to find himself quite efficient with the dagger he had stolen and sewn into the inner linen of his doublet, but how much good that did him against a horde of filthy goblins he had already seen. He didn't have a family, no connections, no favours to pull. What did he have? One old dagger. A couple of rings, also stolen and hidden away many years ago. And a small group of individuals who shared the same appalling experience of having a Mindflayer tadpole shoved into the brain. And his body. - Stuck at camp while they waited for Archdruid Kagha to return from an important mission, Astarion finds himself in the unusual situation of having a lot of time on his hands. Time to reflect on his situation, the next step, and, last but not least, the companions who have joined their quest so far. From their respect-inspiring leader, Durge, to the newest addition, a bard the gods seemed to have put on this world for the sole purpose of going on Astarion's nerves. D'ylân looked up, catching Astarion staring. His face immediately changed when the frown disappeared. It didn't exactly soften, but he seemed curious instead of hostile. But should Astarion needle him with another insult, he was prepared to bite back in kind. "Nothing! Leave me alone!" Astarion huffed and turned up his nose, arms crossed in front of his chest. He ignored the stifled laugh from Shadowheart and Lae'zel's irritated groan. "I'm trying! I really am!" D'ylân laughed. It sounded relieved, as if he was grateful Astarion offered him a distraction from his bleak thoughts. "You know, I could do without you scowling and spatting at me at any given moment. But alas, you don't seem able to resist. I suppose such is the curse of being too charismatic for my own good." Grinning smugly, he stroked over the neatly groomed beard that covered his chin. "Charis— Oh, fuck you." Astarion felt the tips of his ears turning hot when Shadowheart didn't even try to hide her giggles anymore. Even from Lae'zel came a short, amused scoff. Fine, that asshole could have that point. There was enough time to even the score before the day was over.
