Project Jupiter leans on natural gas to power its ambitions — but the environmental trade-offs remain fuzzy. Is this a future built on energy or compromise? @sourcenm.com's Joshua Bowling take a closer look.
Project Jupiter’s plan relies on natural gas — its impact on air quality remains unclear
Project Jupiter plans to use natural gas — but its developer and state regulators have not clearly addressed how the plant’s emissions might affect air quality in surrounding communities.

Found a new #nativeplant source in #Tucson, along with a giant Pricklypear #cactus that reminds me of the ones in the Galápagos. They employ adults with disabilities & have a great selection of native trees, shrubs, cactus and succulents with helpful descriptions. Sad that we didn't have our truck!

The hotel I'm staying at tmw had their reservation system #hacked. The hotel's real number texted asking me today to input my personal & card info within 24 hrs. or my reservation would be canceled. They had my full name, date & $ amount. I didn't take the bait.

I'm sure these are fine where they're native, but we had Bird of Paradise (strelitzia reginae) in our LA-area yard growing up, and it was traumatizing. Pointy, dripping sap, and infested with rats. I hate this plant. #odiousplants #crimes

While @heinrich.senate.gov & @lujan.senate.gov didn't cave, as a D pct chair, how do I go around my neighborhood and rah-rah for the Dems? Associated with nothing but weakness, failure, appeasement? The mandate of massively successful No Kings & Election Day, they fold anyway? I feel ridiculous.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

SHAME ON YOU & your enablers! Flights can be rescheduled. Food can be donated in the meantime. WE CAN'T easily reopen closed hospitals. Or bring people back who die or have permanent damage from lack of healthcare. Did Tuesday's elections mean NOTHING to you? Dems can be counted on to CAVE.
If Chuck Schumer was a stronger leader, he would have been able to convince most of these senators to hold the line.

I’m terribly disappointed in him.

A "...promise to hold a vote on extending health care subsidies at some point in the future." Hold. The. Line. Anyone who trusts the Republicans on this deserves to be primaried out. I will give my money and volunteer time to help. @heinrich.senate.gov @lujan.senate.gov @repgabevasquez.bsky.social

Wee bee on my Brittlebush (Encelia farinosa). Another one of my Tucson finds. Hopefully it won't be too upset about our winter here in the Chihuahuan desert. I saw these all over at our resort, and couldn't resist. #nativeplants

AMEN. @lujan.senate.gov @heinrich.senate.gov @repgabevasquez.bsky.social

Do not cave. Do not cave. DO NOT CAVE. The people will step up to help with food and other assistance to needy families, but if people get kicked off their health insurance, they will die. Let us know how we can help.

I'm happy with the #LasCruces local #election results so far! I moved here from Texas, so not having to choose between a crazypants Christian Nationalist and a moderate Republican has been refreshing. Loving ranked choice voting and I get to vote for people I believe in.

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, here is the WISDOM study. You may be able to get free genetic testing, as I did. Dr. Jen Gunter: "If genetic testing ... was pre-2013, it should be repeated, but a case was made for repeating testing if it has been more than five years." www.thewisdomstudy.org

@99pi.org a friend is considering doing a design-related pod about his city, and I went to send him your Santa Fe and Chicago eps, but I ended up bombarding him with sooo many great ones. Now I'm listening to The Chinatown Punk Wars again. Hopefully he doesn't regret asking me. 😄

I'm proud to be represented by Commissioner Susana Chaparro for being the lone voice demanding transparency! I really hope I'm wrong and that this isn't a big scam.
“The offense is the process that led to the final votes, not the votes themselves. Rather than being grounded in relationship with their constituents, county officials made decisions based on the out-of-state developers’ artificial deadline and threat to leave.”

Follow up to my Black Dalea post! I live in the northern area of Las Cruces, and mine is full of small bees (I assume european honeybees). Today, I went to a home in the Valley, and hers was almost all bumblebees. #nativeplants #bees

The USA needs a former Mayor for President. Mayors know accountability. They see how policies impact regular folks up close. I would be excited about the candidacies of @petebuttigieg.bsky.social or @corybooker.com - maybe there are more mayors I don't know about! Send me your awesome mayors!
Before he was a Senator, a candidate for President, and our greatest champion in the fight against oligarchy, Bernie Sanders was the four-term Mayor of Burlington, VT.

I sat down with Bernie in Astoria to talk about the lessons he learned—and the work ahead.
