As others have suggested they could organize a counter SOTU presser out side if they want to do a walk out. If going that route, they must call it what it is:
Openly call it a coup and hostile occupation
The most reliable counter to a fascist coup is a popular front uprising.
The most effective thing opposition leaders can do is call the situation what it is & start building it.
