The sleepiness I think comes from some of the things that come from first pass metabolism that happens w oral route. Most of it should skip it via butt (tho there is the hepatic portal vein for which 1/3 upper part of rectum cares about -- so, a lot less)

Progesterone also helps me fall asleep (as an oral pill). Noticeably so.

And at least compared to promethazine and other first gen antihistamines, I don't feel super groggy the next day.

Action movies are actually documentaries

I don't want to live in a state of constant vigilance. I'd rather err on the side of avoidance nowadays as much as I can.

But yes: the original point wasn't about street violence, it was personal.

Funny that, ten years ago I did. It didn't protect me, it fueled my hyper vigilance and made my paranoia worse. I don't think I would have been safer -- some people imagine action movie scenarios in their head, real life confrontations are much more random and unpredictable.

It worries me that some seem so unaware of how different that kind of violence in familiar spaces happens.

It also worries me that there's those who think if only we armed ourselves we'd somehow be safer.

Of cis men, I specifically date out bi (and sometimes gay) men because they have less to prove. Straight cis men terrify me and every time one has taken an interest in me, it got to very dangerous places very quickly.

I wish I didn't have to double check someone's sexuality like that for fear.
