Every time I listen to these schmucks talk about the city budget, while advocating for keeping all of their precious car lanes, I want to pull my hair out. The roads are the most expensive thing we pay for, if we can reduce the use/amount of them via bike lanes and denser housing we'd pay less tax 😭

I've heard a lot of people in Holland share this sentiment. Most people probably don't think of their car as a massive part of their identity (even if it is, more than they admit) because it's just a normal form of transportation. If it's just how you get to work, I could see why they'd say that.
