The beginning of a new #sculpture. Next, I'll coalesce or clear most of these bubbles. I shot this video just to test a new "manual ptz platter" I built, but after watching it I decided it's worth a share. For perspective, the paint and dichroic glass in the center here is roughly the size of a BB.

One last shot of the #heartshaped bubble before I reshape the piece.

This #sculpture is 1cm wide, made of mixed media & clear gel sealed in a snowglobe. I apply force from outside to "sculpt" the work.

It's also a #stereogram. Cross your eyes, overlap the images for 3D!

When a bubble splits into a heart-shape, a photo shoot is mandatory... albeit cliche :)

This piece is 1cm wide. It's acrylic & gel sealed in a snowglobe. I apply force from outside to "sculpt" the work.

It's also a #stereogram. Cross your eyes, overlap the images for 3D!

#MacroPhoto showing how I've changed this #sculpture since the 2 photos a few days ago.

How I strike the globe has dramatic effects. The shape & firmness of my hand, total force, the globe's orientation as a bubble is in flight, all must be considered.

Before filming this, I overstruck & nearly sent paint into the wall, but twisting the globe saved the day.

#macroPhoto of my latest #sculpture, seen 180° from my last post.

To make these works, I seal acrylic & gel in a glass snowglobe, then direct force into it by hand, moving bubbles to "sculpt" the colors.

This is a #stereogram. Cross your eyes & overlap the images for 3D!

#MacroPhoto of a brand-new, tiny (1cm) #sculpture of acrylic & clear gel in a glass snowglobe.

After sealing the globe, I direct force into it by hand, moving bubbles to "sculpt" the colors inside.

This is a #stereogram, btw. Cross your eyes & overlap the images for 3D!

Here's a shot that shows the base of the snowglobe, lending some perspective on the size of these tiny works of #newmediaart.

In a way, these sculptures are "analog #generativeart" ;)

This is a 3D #stereogram, btw - cross your eyes, overlap the images for 3D!

Ice crystals really gave this sculpture the gritty, dark vibe it needed!

This one's ~2cm end-to-end. Olympus charger's boxed up after moving, so today I'm shooting on my cellphone cam... plus a DIY macro lens, of course :)

This is a 3D stereogram, btw - cross your eyes, overlap the images for 3D!

I put a microscope eyepiece on a UV nail-gel curing light & used it as my primary light-source for today's photo shoot. This sculpture is ~1cm across!

Today's photos were shot on my cellphone through a diy macro lens.

This is a crossview stereogram, btw. Cross your eyes, overlap the images for 3D.

Freezing & thawing a sculpture leaves really cool textures in the air bubbles! This sculpture is ~1cm from end to end, by the way :)

This is a 3D crossview stereogram - cross your eyes, overlap the images for 3D!

Photos were shot on Olympus gear through a DIY macro lens.

Here's an uncrossed-view copy for those who prefer them. Sorry it's not color adjusted like the CrossView :)

I've been busy and haven't made it onto bluesky much lately, but here's a 3D CrossView stereogram macro photo of a wild mushroom I discovered growing on a hillside last fall in the upper Midwest. I shot these two photos on Olympus gear through one of my DIY macro lenses.

Here's an uncrossed stereogram of the same two photos, for those using Google Glass, lizards, and those of you capable of *un*crossing your eyeballs ;)

I create these sculptures in glass snowglobes by floating acrylic paints in clear gel. I direct force through the glass to move air, 'sculpting' the color inside

Here's a clip from the cutting room floor. At 0:15 you can see the back of my thumb as I adjust a lens that guides light into the piece. I hope this provides a sense of scale/perspective so people can truly appreciate how tiny these sculptures are... 🤯

TMYK. cheers! 😇

Yep, it's a yellow glass base layer, and the black twists are actually cased in clear glass... hard to see in the previous photo. Don't worry if it isn't easily identified, i know it's a long shot :) it's been a mystery to me for the 5 years I've owned it.

@pariglas.bsky.social can you help identify who made my favorite little vase? I've spent hours digging thru 90s-era collectors' forums & makers-mark catalogs, tilting it into the light to reveal impressions or diamond-pencil marks on the bottom, all to no avail. Here's a photo. It's about 12cm tall:

Bluesky mobile doesn't do landscape, but these images are better bigger. Here's a copy rotated 90 degrees. Yes, it's left hand biased ;)
