“Because if you know my name, you know I do good… and I know you do good as well,” Vitt said, violet eyes narrowed as Neve stopped in her tracks. “You know I have no stake. I have no other tools of my trade. I just… I wanted to see if what they said was true.”

“And what do they say, little hunter?” Neve asked, towering over them as she finally stopped before them.

“That there’s an absolutely gorgeous vampire living in Minrathous with a heart of gold and a sea of felled corruption at her feet. I wanted to see the power upclose without having to kill,” Vitt purred, twirling their dagger as they stood up and pressing the hilt under Neve’s chin.

The vampire looked down at them, deep brown eyes glinting with flickers of red in the light. Vitt found themselves moving closer, pressing their lips against the hilt, the metal a poor and agonising barrier protecting the flesh of Neve’s neck. It was stupid, but the allure was strong and so had every fantasy Vitt had, had before coming here. To think that lusting after the very idea of a vampire, of this particular woman, with all of her deeds and curiosities. Vitt wanted to taste every single one. Wanted to bruise and feel teeth against flesh.
