Honestly, looking at the list this year, the only real disappointments I personally had were Beau is Afraid, Psycho Goreman, Triangle, (somehow) Leprechaun 4, Watcher in the Woods, Goosebumps (Somehow????) and Mimic. Had my general expectations met OR exceeded by most of them.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. One of many, many GBA games I replayed every 2-3 years consistently. It's been a moment BUT it's my foundational FF game, oddly enough. Have yet to play the sequel nor the original/war of the lions.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Yes I really like metroidvanias. I need to play more than this, Order of Ecclesia, and Aria of Sorrow at some point...

Metroid Fusion. I could have easily put Super Metroid here instead BUT this was my first Metroid games and therefore I feel the need to prop it up despite folks disliking how linear it is by metroidvania standards. Shout out to Nightmare btw.

Shadow of the Colossus (PS2). I refuse to play the remake out of principle. Needs that era of early bloom visuals imo.

Final Fantasy 14. This is the only MMO I’ve put hundreds of hours into. I like that you can primarily play it as a single player game with a community. Also shadowbringers baby!!

LoZ: Majora’s Mask. This is my Zelda benchmark, vibes-wise. I wish they went back to a central town hub again with lots to do but I don’t think they’ll go back in that direction anytime soon.
