I live in a city where our suburban neighbors do trash talk the city where all our major league sports teams play. In St. Louis, it's the running joke about leaving the stadium in the 7th to beat traffic. Slight upside, some of them do park in the county and ride our light rail to the game.

The Killdeers surprise me. I use the Merlin app, and they show up in unexpected places around St. Louis.

I love these birds so much. I feel like their trill calls are saying, "look at meeee."

The X is wrenching. I just saw a photo taken east down Market with Union Station in the frame. In the near ground, there were cars parked on the left. I imagined they were Mill Creek residents'.

We went on our honeymoon. And I made a whole album of "animals I nearly stepped on in the Galapagos." The way the animals don't have a care in the world is such a wonder.
