As the Palestinian struggle for liberation rightfully asks for more of us every day, we publish this statement/endorsement as the first of many this summer to solidify our long-term commitment to organising to help end this century-long genocide.

Ultimately, we hope to work more closely with Solidaridad Antirrepresiva in the fight against repression which we see increasing on a global scale.
We see how the Spanish state and Germany are increasingly repressing both activists and marginalised conmunities--but if the genocidal hypocrisy of the German state is well known, much less is known about the Spanish state's complicity in arms trafficking, war, and occupation. While the Spanish state plays at being an advocate for Palestine, it took massive international pressure to reveal Maersk's ongoing arms shipments being moved through Spanish ports. The state also continues its farce of recognising a Palestinian state without fundamentally altering its relationship with the Zionist entity, or demanding the return of refugees (as enshrined by international law), or the dismantlement of the settler-colony itself. And this is without even mentioning the Spanish state's complicity in the neocolonial occupation if Western Sahara, its brutalisation of migrants, and the silencing of artists who are critical of the state. Thus, the solidarity events we organise in Berlin--to raise awareness about the political situation and raise money to donate to prisoners and those impacted by repression--are openly anti-Zionist, as well as the bands and DJs that participate. This report is focused on the donation recipients for Vol. III ( @gazasoupkitchen ) & Vol. II ( @gazasunbirds ) respectively, though we also discuss fundraising for @pal_action & @heal.palestine .
BONUS/MISCELLANEOUS (Overlapping receipt screenshots showing: PALESTINE ACTION, £25; anonymous GoFundMe, £27; HEAL Palestine, $10) Small but significant amounts were also raised during our grasroots campaign for HEAL Palestine through Vol. I sales, as well as for Palestine Action through direct grassroots sales or indirectly by supporting events like Total Liberation in London! While counting exact amounts outside direct donations is challenging (since we donated merch to some events that managed their sales independently of us), we estimate that this fundraising totalled to between €150-250. (NB: not all receipts pictured) NEXT STEPS (Image of cassettes & zines being packaged for shipment) More tape/vinyl sales are coming! AN INTERVIEW WITH THE DISSIDENTS (PHILLY) ON ‘NO GENOCIDE COMPS’ & Palestine solidarity in the local punk sceneWe've seen such a surge in solidarity for Palestine since 2023 & the intensification of the Zionist genocide against Palestinians, and your band has been very vocal & active in not only spreading awareness but putting together benefit shows & comps for Palestine. What did that surge look like for you in Philly, both in the scene and in terms of the wider movement culture? Was your band already connected to the solidarity movement and you sprang into action, or was this a new horizon for you all whereby you connected with local & international solidarity groups and brought that messaging back to the community?Here in Philly we're lucky to have a really strong activist history, including anti-zionist organizing, that is very intertwined with the punk scene. Everyone in the band has a history of activism and most of us have been involved in the anti-zionist/Palestinian solidarity movement. For me personally [Rachel], 2023 is when I decided to suck it up and take full advantage of the undue weight my Jewish identity has in speaking out about Palestine. It was something I was never comfortable doing and was partly a strategic decision, and partly an emotional one from needing to do something about the crushing weight of knowing that the justification for all this evil was supposedly making a safe place for ME. what the fuck! So that is what prompted me to start doing some actions with Jewish anti-zionist groups, and playing the Jewish card BEFORE people called me anti-semetic. And just generally going all-out for Palestinians in any way I could. So weirdly this whole nightmare has made me a lot more connected to my jewishness and (anti-zionist) jewish community. That leads us to our next question. What connects all of these examples is reconceptualising 'community' beyond the diktats of state violence, without which no liberation movement of any scale is possible. It seems like many of you were already in or 'around' community in a way that made it feel intuitive and clear how to begin organising. Have any other campaigns in the Philly area beyond its Palestine solidarity network (around housing, healthcare, labour struggles, the arts, etc.) been helpful in your version of 'making community' in that sense? And what advice would you give to people who feel like they lack that wider community to connect with, or that the punk scene where they live is less 'political' or engaged?It's definitely heartening to see people learning about leftist and anti-zionist jewish movements - that's what my family background is, and what i always valued about my culture growing up. and zionism is so totally counter to that, in fact zionists despise just about everything i love about jewish culture - radical leftism, intellectualism, BEING FUNNY, being nerdy, questioning everything, the immense variety of the diaspora, the Yiddish language, being against genocide.....it's hard to pick out even just a few movements in Philly, there are so many and they're mostly connected. I guess the entry point for most/all of us, and most punk/hippie/anarchist type activists, was West Philly. ACT UP was really active in West for a long time and I can see groups like JVP taking a lot of cues from the theatricality of their actions - die ins and sit-ins and even the visual of big white text on black shirts. One reason is it's a lot of the same people! While gentrification has changed the neighborhood a lot in the last 20 years or so, for decades there has been a really tight activist community in West Philly... [rest of text in thread] More concretely, if you can't find people who are doing things that are exactly what you want to do in your area, find things that are close. Figure out if there's a local mutual aid group, food not bombs, even like a lefty church where they feed people. See if you can find books through bars or prison education programs (these often have ways to get involved remotely). Go to protests. Print out zines/flyers and thand them out at shows, and talk to people about them. Get involved and you will meet likeminded people to build other things with. They might be punks or they might not be! I'm very lucky that I got into punk as a young teen and learned the concept of DIY very early. It's served me really well throughout my life. If you take things step by step and accept that sometimes you are going to fail, you can figure out how to create all kinds of things that feel out of reach to many people.What do you see for The Dissidents & No Genocide Comps in the near future? You've already managed to raise over $20,000 for your chosen causes (correct?), and it seems like there's no sign of that stopping anytime soon. Have you considered linking up into a network similar to Bands Boycott Barclays, which had such success with the Download festival in the UK in getting bands to pull out of the BDS-violating Download Festival (and will now be Barclays-free in 2025!). Bands from that network & How to Catch A Pig & the recently revived Piehouse Co-op have been part of building an independent 'solidarity economy' for artists to get paid outside of the corporate music world as well, which has enabled them to act more stridently & freely in the political realm. It seems like there is so much potential across the for the U.S. punk & DIY underground to do the same & revive a kind of trade union approach to music which can both fundraise for allied causes & also flex its muscle as an independent bloc of workers. [continued in thread] That goes for producing music and art outside of those kinds of platforms (while keeping as much as possible the helpful aspects of centralization that something like bandcamp or instagram provides) as well but that doesn't feel quite as urgent at this moment. Sorry we don't have a big plan or anything, we don't have answers on how to do any of this, we're just trying to do what we can to help people in a material way as fast and as much as we can.Finally--What is the trashiest track or album you've found yourself bopping to recently? We're thinking as far from punk authenticity as you can imagine. :) Here's one from our end: Depeche Mode - Boys Say Go! Final question, well, I (Rachel) am not a person who really believes in guilty pleasures. You're talking to someone who ordered the Aqua Aquarium 20th anniversary vinyl reissue from Holland the day it came out, ok? One of my favorite bands is the Cowsills. Depeche Mode? HA! That is EXTREMELY COOL compared to the things I openly adore. I cannot be shamed EXCEPT by things that are a tad sketchy. So I'm just gonna say Fear "Beef Bologna", even though I haven't actually been listening to it lately, because it's just embarrassing and yet it truly rocks and I will sing along every time even though i am a vegan feminist. White text on red background: GERMANY WANTS TO DEPORT EU AND US CITIZENS FOR THEIR SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINE - STATEMENT FROM THE FOUR ACTIVISTS EU and USA Citizens facing immediate, politically motivated, deportation from Germany We are four activists--three EU citizens and one US American citizen--facing deportation from Germany, ordered to leave by April 21, 2025. For the sole reason of protesting Germany's complicity in the ongoing genocide in Palestine, Berlin's Senatsverwaltung für Inneres undSport (SenInnSport) has ordered our expulsion, arbitrarily accusing us of 'antisemitism' and supporting 'terrorist organisations' referring to Harakat al-Muqawamah al-Islamiyyah (Islamic Resistance Movement) or Hamas, as well as 'its front organisations in Germany and Europe.' (bold) Not one of us has a criminal record. This is not justice: The Landesamt für Einwanderung (LEA) initially refused the order--(bold) recognising its lack of legal basis--but was forced to comply under political pressure from SenInnSport. The deportation orders were signed by LEA Director Engelhard Mazanke. This is not the first instance of Germany weaponising migration law. Since October 2023, the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees has unlawfully frozen the processing of all asylum-seekers from Gaza, claiming "the current events [in Gaza] are consistently unclear and difficult to asses"--directly contradicting the German courts who have explicitly stated; there is a direct threat to life to anyone in Gaza. Meanwhile, anti-migrant and anti-Arab racist propaganda in the media manufactures consent for targeted deportations--(bold) predominantly of Palestinians. Rampant unrestrained police violence goes hand in hand with this repressive use of immigration law to silence pro-Palestinian voices and political dissent. Arbitrary arrests made at protests, combined with false charges, are used as pretexts to justify extrajudicial deportation measures, circumventing any notion of independent judicial process and the rule of law. Germany's revocation of one student visa and three EU citizens right to move within the EU is an unprecedented escalation with dire implications. This parallels the Trump administration using deportation as a method of repression against US residents exercising their right to freedom of speech Greece is attempting similar measures against 9 EU and UK activists, against whom all criminal charges have been dropped. (bold) These escalations should alarm movements confronting state violence everywhere. (bold) Our deportation is a political act--an attempt to intimidate an entire movement. By stripping us of our freedom of movement, Germany intensifies its repression of pro-Palestinian voices, disproportionately targeting Palestinian, Muslim, and Arab communities. In the deportation documents, the LEA opens with a statement depicting the events of October 7th through Germany's Staatsräson--a doctrine that enshrines unconditional support for Israel, no matter its systematic human rights abuses and war crimes. This same Staatsräson has been used to justify Germany's complicity in the ongoing genocide, while systematically suppressing criticism of Israel's 77-year settler-colonial project, ethnic cleansing, and the current mass slaughter, displacement, and starvation of Palestinians.
