(sorry i couldn't fit the full text in alt. due to character limit.) In 2016, I drew this doodle as a vent for feelings I was trying to cope with at the time. I was 17 when I drew this. I had an abusive, neglectful, and heavily stunted upbringing. I have mental health issues and no way to know if they were caused by OR further exacerbated by the way I was raised. I became hypersexual at a very young age due to neglect. I also became a multiple system, partially for the allure of attention, and partly because I desperately wished to understand my world. My hypersexual attention seeking had led me to places in my preteens- teens that I'm thankful never left the sphere of online anonymity for my own safety. Ground zero was that I didn't have parents I could trust. The abuse I witnessed made me learn very quickly to hide and lie. My dad is a short tempered paranoid narcissist, my mom hides and lies too. She rarely had energy for me, and she punished me for looking at the Wikipedia page for Penis. Y'know, instead of educating me. Neither of my parents ever formally gave me 'the talk.' All I had was me, my fractured self, and my computer. This drawing was about everyone who had failed me. My parents, spaces I was in, people that didn't intervene, people that indulged or encouraged my immature, uneducated mind. I quickly learned that a place for me was not the norm, or not allowed. There are many young people, especially those who have had much greater hardships than me, that have learned the sort of isolation that comes with being a little bit too familiar with that specific concoction of mental unwellness and sexual gratification. This drawing represents myself coping with these difficult feelings, which I had for long before I was 17, but god forbid, the smaller the number, the less I could understand my situation. Skonia, an early incarnation of my fractured sense of self, is seen (Covering up? Protecting? Restricting?) Pumpky, the version of myself that is … (sorry i couldn't fit the full text in alt. due to character limit.) I am 26 now, I drew this in 2025. A lot has changed since 2016. The world is becoming a difficult and complicated place. I got the inspiration to make a continuation for the previous doodle from 2016 due to the enroaching threats of fascism, censorship, and other misc. chaos. I now live on my own with a partner, have a full time job, am still struggling with my mental health, but I am free to do what I want in my own time. My sense of self is still fractured. I don't know if it will ever feel whole again. I resent the influences in my adolescence that made my multiplicity (now plurality) out to be a fun and quirky thing. I adopted it, and now despite everything, I always am fighting compulsions and myself to try and find peace and balance with my sense of self and my mind. Do not mistake my resentment for condemnation of all who have systems and/or personality disorders. DO interpret my resentment as a call to stop treating it like a fun quirky label and start treating it seriously. I can't stress enough how much it FUCKED me. I don't know how much time I have left to tell my experiences and stories. I am enraged by the state of the world and have been picking and choosing my battles on how I play a part in fighting the various ills society is facing. I will not give up. I want people to have the opportunity to know another voice; mine. I, in particular, was inspired to make this continuation piece in response to the threat of censorship on my doorstep that is Bluesky. I don't have a big social media presence at all. I seek out opportunities to connect with others and find more friends. It has felt hard to find people and communities that share my interests and values. I believe it will become even harder for me to seek out the connections and mutual understanding I crave should another social media option fall to the pressure of this censorship hysteria.
