Out of interest, do you need a defined sequence of events with an end position or do you interpret the sequence from the end position given?

I was in India years ago and rather liked the use of "for the needful" as a succinct request for assistance or general instruction. As someone who regularly interprets instructions differently to how they were intended I find it harder to have that response to "the needful".

Walking to town in my youth I saw "Darren loves Julie" written in chalk on the road.
A few days later I saw the the addition of "But Julie loves Terry, sorry Darren"

I usually go from 6 to 3 when the derailleur stops working properly. Then spend ages trying to work out what's wrong, clean the chain, check the cables, clean the derailleur jockey wheels and check the levers. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It means my bike has a personality.
