Kinksters gonna kink~
It's probably for a similar reason why so many macrophiles follow me even though I never draw macro and am pretty up front about my distaste for it.

I had thought a bit about this. x) But because of the limitations of Pico8 I can't really put much detail into the game. So for now, it's just blowing up planets, haha

I was hoping to add more variety in the planet explosions. But I think I'm pretty much tapped out. There's a bit of randomness as it is anyway, so that'll have to do.

So now, in the immortal words of Bob Ross, I need to make some big decisions. Need to figure out if I want different planets to specialize in weapon types. Whether different sized planets should have different HP (they do atm, but it's not well balanced). All kinds of potential things to try now.

What followed was the idea that now different sized planets could have different weapon load outs. Awesome!
Except now it's exponentially more difficult to balance. xD
Not sure why I made all this extra work for myself, but sure! Why not. x)

But more importantly, it made it far easier to implement different planet sizes, because now the x,y pos works for everything. And I only needed offsets for the graphics and collision.
It took a while to do all this, but I think it's worth it.

When I went back and rewrote the code to work this way, I gained over 100 tokens, from eliminating tiny little offset corrections in nearly every function that touches a planet. Seems obvious, but when I was developing I would just add on one thing at a time and didn't realize how much it added up.

Early on in dev I drew the planets with their x, y position, and used an offset to calculate gravity, missile launches and everything else to align with the center of the planet.
What I *should* have done is used the x,y pos for all calcs, and offset the *graphic* of the planet.

I ended up doing this very far along in development... but after playing the game for a while, I thought it would really benefit from different planet sizes. But before I could implement that, I had to fix how the planets were drawn to the screen.

Apparently it's not uncommon in people who exercise a lot. And since I'm getting older now too, I could have just lifted something the wrong way.

Worth getting checked out if you can.

Haha, I mean I guess that's one way to put a positive spin on it x)

I'm glad you're talking about this! I've been seeing more and more real estate listings like this in my local area. Sunsets photoshopped in, images clearly 'cleaned up', but removing important details like the condition of the roof. Super shady stuff.

But it could just as easily have been from something like riding motorcycle. Like hitting a bump just the wrong way when my back is in a weird position, and crack. Who knows.

Yeah, they said it should heal up on its own. And that it's a minor fracture, so no surgery needed. I'll find out more at my PT appointment.

I do still do a lot of pull up and chin ups. But they take weight off the spine, so I don't think it was that.
It might have been from hoisting dumbells overhead while doing shoulder presses? I only do 60lbs at a time, but maybe at my age, that's getting to be too much.
