8 is amazing. but i really think 1/2 are something special, especially played back to back. once you get the hang of bump combat it becomes a ton of fun. plus, i think learning about adol’s first couple of adventures makes some plot beats hit harder in later games (especially IX and X)

the gameplay is a ton of fun, arguably the best of the series. the writing is a special kind of bad that is entertaining in all the wrong ways. definitely worth playing for that price.

they’re all good and pretty similar. any of the S series ones are a safe choice but the most recent one has all of the new puzzle types they’ve added. you really can’t make a bad choice here, honestly
