I agree about the Stewart interview. My impression of Carney before was that he was a policy wonk. The interview showed that he’s personable and has a sense of humour.

“Since we’re only going to leave you in prison until you die instead of killing you ourselves, we don’t have to look at your case as closely.” Um, what?

“Canadians won’t buy the crap of a felon and a delusional billionaire, but conservatives will” is spot on.

RCV benefits centrist parties the most. In Canada’s case, that’s the Liberals. MMPR would more accurately reflect the electorate as a whole while still providing for local representation.

I’m pretty sure that @jagmeetsingh.ca wants that too. I think he would like nothing more than to form an NDP majority government next election, actually.

The question being asked is whether they (Canada) will accept refugees from their (Canada’s) southern border. The answer is that yes we will, but there is a literacy test if you wish to become a citizen.

This was a discussion about galaxies moving away from us at faster than the speed of light. Seems like you have a different agenda.
January 6, 2025 at 4:53 PM
Who is saying that? No one in this thread, and nowhere in the article I shared at least.

So Liberal MPs think that their party, which as cozied up ever closer to corporate interests and has stripped collective bargaining rights from rail workers, port workers, and postal workers in the past 6 months, has moved too far to the left? Cook story, bro.

You’re the only person actually suggesting that

Except that most of the galaxies we can currently observe will become invisible to us in the future.

I’ll see your Woolworths and raise you a CN Rail where they locked out their employees and then ran full page ads calling on the Canadian gov’t to force the workers back by citing a potential chlorine shortage.

The thing I like the most about this app is that there’s not one comment arguing that Bezos earned or deserves that money.

You’re correct. Much like past administrations, Trump is filling up the swamp. My question is why is he claiming that he’s draining it, and why do people believe him?

And you even beat me to saying that!

His point is that Bluesky is Twitter under the hood. Twitter’s algorithm is open source, and Bluesky started as a Twitter side project. If you buy Bluesky you get Bluesky. If you buy Twitter you get blueprints.

“Email is different from gmail” is giving me “it’s not a democracy, it’s a constitutional republic” vibes, and I’m pretty sure that’s your point? Maybe?

I tried Mastodon a few years ago and it was giving me Google+ vibes, i.e. a great party that nobody showed up to.

Given that the judge’s issue is a procedural one rather than one disagreeing with the actual pay package, Tesla could just revisit this at their next AGM and do it properly. Fighting this suit is more about Elon proving himself right (and the judge wrong) rather than ensuring his compensation.

Generally, Delaware judges have deferred to shareholders’ votes in these matters, but there’s an established process that Tesla didn’t follow.
