With the amount of promises Reeves has broken who’d believe her if she did rule it out?

If anything that’d make me think it’s more likely to happen.

Tbf we can’t discount that she did all her tax cuts at the same time as announcing a policy to cap energy bills that was estimated at £120b+. If she’d done it over a period of time instead of all at once who knows what might have happened🤷‍♂️

How do you pay for public services without growth?
November 28, 2025 at 2:22 PM
How dare a broadcaster criticise an unpopular government that just raised everyone’s taxes
November 28, 2025 at 2:19 PM
You do know that this is the market saying we can pay our debts, not that the Budget will improve things for working people?

I like how you say Reeves or Truss as if their Budgets are the only two possible Budgets a chancellor could ever give and no other options exist

I’m not even a Tory but okay.

I asked for some positive metrics and you said growth (which is down from when she took over) and improved outcomes for workers (whose disposable income growth is slashed).

Sounds like someone’s got a bit touchy when some economic reality is presented

You can have all the wage growth you want but if real household disposable income growth is slashed from 3% pa to 0.25% pa I don’t think you can say you’re a successful chancellor in any sense of the word
November 27, 2025 at 12:00 AM
Even though growth has been revised up, it’s still down on before she took over. Plus the OBR has downgraded their growth forecasts for the rest of this parliament.

Also the OBR has massively slashed its estimates for growth in real household income from 3% to 0.25% how does that benefit workers?

If raising taxes on working people and slashing growth in living standards is your idea of a great Budget, I’d hate to see what a bad one looks like
November 26, 2025 at 9:55 PM
How do you pay for measures that keep children out of poverty without growth?
November 26, 2025 at 9:47 PM
Yes they have, “Real GDP is forecast to grow by 1.5 per cent on average over the forecast, 0.3 percentage points slower than we projected in March, due to lower underlying productivity growth” direct from the OBR report
November 26, 2025 at 9:44 PM
Well under what metric has the economy improved since she took over?
November 26, 2025 at 7:35 PM
Our economy is terrified
November 26, 2025 at 7:33 PM
How does increasing taxes on workers help with the cost of living?
November 26, 2025 at 7:31 PM
Under what metric is the economy in a better state since Labour took over?
November 26, 2025 at 7:18 PM
The LOTO always responds to the Budget
November 26, 2025 at 7:14 PM
And it’s about to get even higher under Reeves
November 26, 2025 at 7:12 PM
Under what measure has she improved the economy since becoming chancellor?
November 26, 2025 at 7:10 PM
While also breaking her manifesto promise to not raise tax on working people

Also is always funny when people encounter someone who doesn’t think like them and goes ‘well they clearly haven’t done enough research’ as opposed to having done the research and just fundamentally disagreeing. If only I’d done more research everyone would think like you I’m sure 😉
November 25, 2025 at 5:08 PM
Yes I think people should keep more of what they earn than they currently do
November 25, 2025 at 5:08 PM
No matter how many replies you do, you’re still not going to get a luxury car on motability any more. Guess you’ll have to pay the insurance, tax and maintenance like everyone else
