And it never ends... until the book comes out, and then it stops. Hotspur: "But thought's the slave of life, and life time's fool; / And time, that takes survey of all the world, /

So thrilled to hear that an ex-student of mine will finish writing his doctoral dissertation on Shakespeare/early modern in comic books - against all odds! He disappeared for a while for personal reasons (life is hard) but this news called for some good craft beer in downtown Budapest ;)

It's SO cool when you can finally include in your class the amazing things you found eg. in the Newberry Library - the beautiful & huge 1542 folio of Chaucer w all the marginalia! Talking about the Knight or later glosses to the Wife of Bath's part suddenly got real for my BA students :)

Publishing (for the second time!) in the Arden Shakespeare series still feels otherwordly to me - as a PhD student in Hungary in the 1990s, learning from the Arden Shakespeare editions, I could not even dare to dream about this :) @bloomsburypublishing

Finally got to the point when I can get back to research and to what I found during my fellowship at the Newberry in October: talking to colleagues & PhD students about 'ordinary' women readers of George Wither & emblem books :) #earlymodernwomen

Librarians/scholars rock! So proud of @drkarrschmidt.bsky.social at the Newberry Library, Chicago (my favourite place since I spent a month of research there)! Her excellent detective work in book history even made it to the Hungarian press :)
