He's a complete black hole defensively (always has been). He would have been in the bottom 6 and not contributing in any meaningful way. This team does not need more scoring, they are more than fine in that regard.

There is no doubt that having guys like him, Noesen, Cotter, & Dillon have completely changed the vibe of this team though. Everyone is playing with more of an edge, that stuff is contagious. Even Dougie is playing more physical.

Having MacDermid on the team is a good thing. Having him play every night and have to eat important minutes (or worse, have to overplay other players because he's not good) is not a good thing.
