Today is day 3️⃣ of the @ecpr.bsky.social conference in Thessaloniki in Greece, one of the world’s largest gatherings of political scientists. This morning I attended a series of presentations about the role of government in corporate bankruptcy, health technology development, & crisis management. 👍

Why did some governments respond slower to COVID-19 than others? This recent study in @psjeditor.bsky.social by Liu et al. attributes slow response to low trust in government, political parties, parliament, and civil service. Moreover, the authors attribute stringent COVID policies to individualism.
