The Commission’s proposals could make it harder for older adults, low-literacy populations, and low-income families to understand their bills by removing requirements for fee disclosures and accessibility features that help consumers shop for and compare broadband services.

Regulating interconnection is essential to the smooth operation of the phone network, and a core responsibility of the FCC. But as the FCC has refused to classify VOIP as Title II service, its unclear whether the agency would be able to continue this role after the transition.
