Lovely morning - all our plumerias have been blooming, and our hibiscus - but this morning both desert roses and our puakenikeni are in bloom

I just posted about the joys of NH and Maui life. I should note that 2 weeks ago we had a BIG 2-day storm and things are difficult at present. This happens several times each year - it rains upcountry, gulches overflow, we get lots of silt and water damage by the shores. Long difficult clean-ups!

A study in contrasts - our homes in NH and on Maui. Jeanʻs cousin Dave took the photo of the NH house, and headed off to go skiing. I miss the snow - the crispness of the air, the beauty of the landscapes. But Maui has abundant mana every day and itʻs a pleasure to greet each new day here.

Here are a few random photos from an afternoon hiking at La Perouse Bay. This is far south on the west side of Maui, past Kihei, Wailea and Makena. Itʻs a terrain of rugged lava fields. We saw 5 or 6 goats - many roam through the back country. We also saw a pregnant monk seal - more on that later.
