As a horror director he ruled the late 70’s and 80’s.
If I was pushed I would say that he’s probably still my favourite director, despite not making a decent film since the mid-nineties (In the Mouth of Madness is still a good film)

I came back from Costco once with 2 x 900g jars of pickled jalapeños.

Ahhh…still have an affection for this movie.
Things like Enya’s music, the strange/disturbing mother and son relationship, the cameo appearances from the royalty of horror directors (honestly…look it up).
The casting of Mädchen Amick in it was an inspired choice for me (sigh)
