This is not a headline in The Onion. The STABLE and GENIUS acts are two real bills in the US Congress designed to authorize issue of a crypto stable coin backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Treasury. George Orwell must be laughing from the grave…

This wasn’t your imagination…Mainstream press coverage of Harris v. Trump was horrible.

Are you as mystified as I am?…This image featuring a woman’s feet in pink spike heels (apparently from the 80s) plus a lobster in a hotel hallway (?!) appear as the Facebook banner image for every Renaissance Hotel in the U.S.

An unacknowledged advantage that the right has with its media ecosystem is the nature of working-class jobs: Mostly men who spend large stretches of time in a truck, or fixing something, with plenty of time to listen and get angry. The left just doesn’t have as many citizens with jobs like that.

If you earned $5,000 a day ever since Christopher Columbus set foot in North America, and you just saved the money - there were no taxes, investing, or interest - you would just now, in 2024, have $1 billion. As AOC says “Every billionaire is a walking policy failure.” #incomeinequality

When I talk to Independents in PA, I feel like a hockey fan asking myself to care who wins a game. I don’t care,so I would decide on frivolities, like who has the best mascot, or which team is the showiest. This is precisely how Independents vote, so Democrats need to be silly on social media to win

Today’s politicians need to fill a “friend” role- people have slipped from the “esteem” level on Maslow’s Hierarchy in the 20th century, to the “love-belonging” level in the 21st. A key to Trump’s success is providing a community for followers & pretending to be a friend. We ignore this at our peril

More wisdom from 25 years of wedding photography: Young adults don’t value professionalism, they value friendship. Even psuedo-friendship. They have slid down a rung on Maslow’s hierarchy in the last 20 years. Politicians who act like “friends” - like Donald Trump - will win. @timmiller.bsky.social

I was a wedding photographer for 25 yrs. My clients were mostly mid-20s. After smartphones, my professional skills weren’t needed as much. Now that’s happened to @democrats.org’ politicians. Their professionalism & worth are not valued. The internet flattens, making everything look equally valuable

According to @politico.com, former Speaker @nancypelosi07.bsky.social encouraged House Ethics Committee members to pass over @aoc.bsky.social for Ranking Member ‘cuz AOC “primary-ed” Democrats that compromise with the GOP. Dems didn’t learn from Trump’s win to go big or go home. So very discouraging

@padems.bsky.social need to resist Trump fatigue, here in PA and throughout the US.

2 pieces of uplifting wisdom from @mcuban.bsky.social

- 60 is the new 40!
