He/they. Old and tired.
Mecha fan. Reader out of shape.
Regretfully and joyously negative.
Finished Dagwon. I didn't dislike it, but it's my least favorite from the Brave series. The cast was too large and kept growing, which made the thin characters stretch out even thinner.
My completionist mind tells me my Brave Series journey isn't over until I watch Betterman... so...

Dagwon is a weak follow-up to Goldran's energetic comedy. And as a Monster Of The Week show the characters aren't as charming as J-Decker's. Still, wonder where the other 3/4ths of the show can go. Warning: flashing lights.

Followed a guided whim and started checking out a sentai show. Somehow avoided the desire to start with the very first one.
It's pretty hectic!

Approaching the end of Goldran and here comes the team-up cannon attack. Warning: flashing lights.

Even with the new video limits I've not been clipping or posting about my Brave journey as much as I did. There's Reasons.
But that aside...! The (presumably, if pattern continues) final form of the main Brave! You know it's Great because it has a lion on its chest.

Not my own idea but even then, is this anything?

Beams aren't the only thing to watch out for.

Goldran (and the following show, Dagwon) is one I heard nothing about.
So, here's me trying to be surprised somehow.
Comparison to J-Decker is not doing it a lot of favors. First impression makes it feel like Da-Garn.

I still don't truly understand where you're standing, Trillion Game...

AMAIM was a show.

Now this is It. The "Crime of the Week" format gave J-decker a lot of room to keep things interesting with hardly any thematic repeats, asides from the overarching theme about what a Soul is.
There's more effort to make everyone into a proper character, and this pays off quite well. A favorite!

J-Decker having the most direct and extreme Ultraman/Ultraseven references after having an entire show with That Feel.
Alien Baltan laugh and Alien Metron look... Incredible.

I love King Joe.

Beastars' author works on no breaks on multiple fronts. If anything the show is less horny than the original manga is.

When the robots get more characterization, it makes the new combination events much more impactful.

Shadowmaru, McCrane, Power Joe and Dumpson are saying no to Ultraman.

Not all Allies Of Justice are Ultras, ma'am.

The universal truth for all Brave shows.

Finished Might Gaine.
The fact that the True Villain is a "3D being" that is only playing a game for fun with 2D beings is a fun meta wink.

Considering Might Gaine aired the year Sunrise was sold out to Bandai without the staff's knowledge, the villain's final words... "So I was also a pawn..."
January 27, 2025 at 11:55 PM
Of course the TRAINS! show gets an ultimate attack that's just TRAINS!

Kenteeky Friea Chicken...?

And while Might Gaine's Locomorizer is damaged, Maito gets a brand new giant robot to play with.
