I slam the face of one of them against a screen showing an '80s movie shot featuring an inch-thick black matte line with crazy gate weave on either side of it, "THAT LOOK PERFECT TO YOU, BUDDY-BOY???"
The "CGI is ruining movies!" crowd acts like every single optical composite shot, miniature explosion, traditional matte painting, stop motion animation, animatronic puppet, etc. was absolutely perfect and believable, and "bad" visual effects were born in, oh, let's say 1994.
