first of all i think bots & regular users should have visually distinctive UIs that show they are different...but secondly i think you could take the Slack approach and have bots/apps do things beyond what users can do, like have buttons and custom UIs. why limit yourself to the confines of chat?

is it actually possible to make a social network in which the client was fully responsible for decoding and rendering data? like what if everything was encrypted until you actually view it? how would that work?
