Your engagement and debate is precisely what is needed to counter the ableist & privileged perspectives, and DWD lobbied activist legislators, that have, frankly, hijacked #MAiD expansion so far.

And *thank you* for everyone's deep engagement and thoughtfulness, pushing beyond the ideologically romanticized #MAiD expansion advertising and the overly simplistic reductionism of (privileged) autonomy that erases and denies impacts of structural inequities.

Sadly the #'s in Canada have gotten worse...2022 data showed >1/3 cited feeling a burden and ~1/5 loneliness as fueling #AssistedSuicide requests; 2023 shows on Track 2 (disabled who are not dying) much worse - nearly half (!) cite loneliness, and feeling a burden, as drivers for state euthanasia
