Playing LP records with my phono preamp hooked straight to the powered speakers I get periodic low level noise in the speakers.

This is the RCA cables picking up motor noise from the turntable.

If I stream the USB output of the amp from my laptop with Airplay: no noise.

Digital analog forever.
