“We are facing the gravest danger of nuclear war that has existed on the planet since the end of the Cold War, and possibly worse than it was during the Cold War,” says nuclear disarmament advocate Dr. Ira Helfand.

SB 131 exempts highly polluting industries from environmental review and mitigation. It will have a devastating impact if the bill is not immediately fixed.

Contact state leaders Sen. McGuire and Assembly Speaker Rivas now to demand they #FixSB131 and protect our communities from toxic pollution.

200+ groups are calling on legislators to fix SB 131. This bill’s CEQA exemption for “advanced manufacturing” could greenlight toxic projects near homes and schools without environmental review. It also leaves endangered species habitats unprotected. Learn more: drive.google.com/file/d/1VicO...

The attacks against some of our most vulnerable members of our community come from the same system that is deregulating environmental protections, defunding public health, increasing nuclear weapons spending, targeting organizers, and criminalizing protest.

Global power is no longer grounded in diplomacy or accountability, but in brute nuclear force. This moment reveals the perverse logic at the heart of deterrence — a doctrine that does not prevent conflict but instead incentivizes aggression by those who wield the bomb.

CEQA is one of our best tools to limit pollution and plan for a safer future. SB 607 would strip away those tools when we need them most.

Let’s tell Senators McGuire and Caballero to protect our climate and vote NO on SB 607!
