So Raban started out as a man but Carol was extremely unhappy with that, and then turns… into a woman… 🤔 mysterious. How does Vince come up with this stuff.

Really though extremely fun thing for Carol to do

The what now 🤨

…what did you imagine golarion was like?
Tbf I think it is a hilarious setting because of how you have a region for everything (western, sci fi, pirates, evil aristocracy, small kingdoms, fantasy kingdoms, jungle w. Magic school, urban fantasy, wuxia, undead, demon invasion/crusade…)

That is a population inversion which is fascinating, it is also not „colder“ than 0 in any sense, it is an artifact of how you derive temperature from energy and entropy because there is a discontinuity in the temperature function, and you get there by adding energy to the system.

Very relatable I say as I look on my folder of unread rpg pdfs

Favorite character design was probably Quinn during the summoning

Oh yeah at the very and I think it was fine, but Sunday afternoon I was getting quite worried.
Yes I think I missed the same one, had all persons.
Loved the one with the lovers, I saw them at the beginning of the game in the atrium where you meet everyone and went 🤨, so that was a very nice payoff.

Oh yeah it’s like „did I just see something in the shadows? Probably just some crows.“ going towards „most cursed hotel in the country“.
Really nice game & time mechanic. Pacing worked quite well for me, I was getting really worried about solving all mysteries towards the end before time runs out.

Also I’ll admit to dming 5e for years and finally doing some pc builds in a good crpg adaptation is very nice, especially because they did fix quite a lot of stuff.

Idk I’ll admit DoS and BG3 have some pain points – skillchecks in dos are very weird, bg3 fights the dnd combat system – their combination of exploration, combat and quests feel very good to me. The elemental system in dos is quite nice and I love the sheer breadth of what you can do esp in bg3.

Thanks, interesting. I’ll probably try PoE1/2 again at some point.
I’ve heard some critical things about planescape’s writing but not yet played it (it’s in the backlog)
also not sure if it counts as a crpg, maybe more slightly different rpg/roguelike hybrid category, but caves of qud is amazing.

Interesting, but of course views can differ on this. Out of interest, what is/are your favorite crpgs? I do also like disco elysium a lot, never got too far into pillars of eternity (2), and while I like PF: wrath of the righteous it’s pretty clunky in parts I feel. Still have to get into rogue trdr

I think what they are doing with ai sucks and their hiring practices are shit (working conditions probs too to some degree) but… bg3 and dos 2 are extremely good I think and also some of the best multiplayer experiences i’ve had.

It is very good and very xcom like. Quite a bit more simulationist and there is a lot of stuff happening (got a bit overwhelmed by the world map in the beginning). Also you 1st person aim your shots which can hit / disable individual body parts, so no more 95% miss from 1m away :’)
Nice factions too

That said tlj does have a bunch of cool stuff – the fight scene, Luke/Yoda/Rey (& her parents not being anyone) is fun I think.
I think these movies would have profited from some perspective on the broader galactical political situation. Is there a senate etc. Funniest being the random fleet in E9

To be fair I think last Jedi is the most interesting sequel movie, I still don’t really like it. The tone of the ending is pretty weird, almost all rebels die, but it is still quite upbeat. The force awakens is watchable, but it repeats 90% of the originals story beats directly, I find it baffling.

Avatar is a truly stunning vfx demo, it has some pretty cool worldbuilding (related) and even Sigourney Weaver. I just wish they had bothered with a script 🥲

Ok wild, thanks. I respect that. I think a problem with the dune one is it kind of dares you to get away with it and it’s pretty easy to pull off (badly) resource wise.
December 15, 2025 at 2:57 PM
Ok so these are on a 1-5 scale where 5 is best I take it
December 15, 2025 at 7:49 AM
Which one is that?
December 15, 2025 at 7:29 AM
This is pretty funny to me because it is saying „ok so if you put this portable hole into this bag of holding, you will get a literal nuclear explosion. Really don’t ever do it though.“
Artifact of a „weird setting“ to TTRPG adaptation. Still mad respect for frank Herbert’s „Swords in space“ stance
December 14, 2025 at 11:36 PM
That is wild.
